Chainsaw license level A, Chainsawing

Purpose and objectives:
The aim of the training is to provide the knowledge and skills required to safely use a chainsaw for various common sawing operations, e.g. cutting firewood and sawing clean wood in connection with construction work. (Please note that tree felling and cutting tree parts in clamps are not included).

Course duration 1 day incl. theoretical and practical test.
Target group - All chainsaw users. (e.g. wood cutting, construction work and foundation for all higher levels)

• Knowledge of the applicable safety regulations and the risks associated with the use of the chainsaw as described above (e.g. through the relevant parts of the summary of AFS 2012:1)
• Skills to start and handle the started chainsaw safely.
• Skills for controlled sawing with pulling and pushing chains and for plunge cutting. techniques for supporting and relieving the saw against the body, etc. knowledge of appropriate methods for cutting wood
• Ability to perform daily maintenance including filing the saw chain.
• Knowledge and skills to perform checks on saw and protective equipment required for safe and proper operation.
• Knowledge and attitudes that prioritize safety and avoid or discontinue inappropriate tasks (too difficult and dangerous in relation to own knowledge and skills).
